Proper contact lens handling key to ensuring comfort and clear vision
Contact lens wearers, especially women whi use oil-based makeup and cleansers, must follow the instructions of eye care professionals on proper contact lens handling when appying or removing eye make-up.
This was the key message of Japanese researches who conducted a study involving several brands of soft silicone hydrogel (SiHy) contact lens, following complaints from women about their contact lens being "cloudy" or uncomfortable despite being relatively new. Conducted in partnership with leading eye care solutions company CIba Vision and published in the 2010 issue of the Journal of Japan Contact Lens Society, the study found taht oil-based cosmetics and cleansing agents deform some contact lenses, resulting in blurred vision and discomfort. |
